Stephen Charnock
Stephen Charnock (1628-1680) needs no introduction to lovers of Puritan writings. He is justly renowned for his work on the Existence and Attributes of God, which are really only the beginning of a Body of Divinity which he desired to give to the world. Sinfulness and Cure of Thoughts, most of which is here reprinted, was the only work actually published during his lifetime. It is based upon Genesis 6:5 '...every imagination of the thoughts...only evil continually'.
