This has been a very influential book down the generations. It is recommended by William Romaine, and has introductory support by no less divines than John Owen and Thomas Goodwin. The latter knew Elisha Coles personally, and could vouch for the 'savoury knowledge' he had of the truth. God's Sovereignty is steeped in scriptural argument. Philosophical speculation is avoided, and profitable light is shed upon God's righteousness, election, redemption, effectual calling, and the perseverance of the saints.
